Romelu Lukaku scores 4 on debut as Inter Milan beat Virtus Bergamo 8-0


Belgium international Romelu Lukaku was in superb form on Sunday, August 11, scoring four goals on his debut for his new club Inter Milan in their 8-0 win over Virtus Bergamo.

The encounter was a pre-season friendly and Romelu Lukaku proved that he is a worthy addition to Antonio Conte’s team after joining from Manchester United. Matias Vecino and Sebastiano Esposito, two other players in need of minutes scored braces to complete the rout.

Lukaku scored 27 times during a successful first season at Old Trafford, but found it difficult to contribute last term managing just 12 Premier League goals.

The 26-year-old did not play a single minute of United’s preparations for the 2019-20 campaign before leaving Old Trafford for Inter Milan. Inter who have won each of their last three friendlies on penalties following 1-1 draws, will start their new Serie A campaign at home to Lecce on August 26. Playing in the Champions League this season also masterminded Romelu Lukaku’s decision to join Inter Milan.

Earlier on, the Belgium international Romelu Lukaku finally joined Italian League giants Inter Milan from Manchester United this summer. The 26-year-old striker sealed a move away from Old Trafford in a deal valued around £73 million on transfer deadline day in England.
